Consecutive interpreting from and into English
The speaker pauses, and I render what was said in segments of a few sentences. No booth or receivers are needed, but speaking time grows by half or doubles.

When you need it
- Business negotiations and protocol meetings where every phrase matters.
- Expert missions, briefings, press conferences, workshops and trainings with one or two lecturers.
- Site visits where the group keeps moving.
- Court and notarial proceedings involving people who do not speak the language.
How I work
- I stand or sit next to the speaker, take notes in interpreter’s shorthand and render the speech in full.
- I work both ways: from English into Russian and from Russian into English.
- For one or two listeners I whisper the interpretation without interrupting the main meeting.
What I need from the organiser
- Subject, participants, materials and the agenda if there is one.
- A microphone for the interpreter in rooms of more than 30 people.
- Breaks in the programme: consecutive interpreting takes no less concentration than simultaneous.
